Prior to receiving a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Nova
Southeastern, Chris worked in Tampa, Florida as a financial analyst and
stock broker, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the
University of Tampa. Recognizing an emerging market for individual investors,
Chris founded Sentient Software, Inc. in 1992 to provide advanced analytics to
the retail investor market. Sentient’s flagship product ExpertTrader is considered
the first in its area to incorporate embedded learning and neural networks, and
received industry and client accolades in the year following its release.
As such, ExpertTrader attracted the attention of nearby competitor TradeStation, a Miami-based
software company also serving the retail investor market. After selling product
rights for ExpertTrader, Chris joined TradeStation (then known as Omega Research) as a software
engineer. Drawing from his investment and trading knowledge, coupled with a strong understanding
of technology and software design, Chris moved quickly up the ranks, and held positions including
Program Manager, Product Manager, Vice President of Product Strategy and Vice President of Product Research.
Throughout his tenure, Chris maintained a “hands on” approach, continuing to be involved with software design and
architecture from concept to code.
Following this tradition, Chris has been involved with a variety of businesses leveraging his knowledge
and experience for the retail trading, hedge fund and RIA industries.
Currently, Chris' focus is TradeQuery, Inc., providing downloadable software and open-source data for retail
investors, RIAs and the hedge-fund industry.
